I’d like to respond to a comment I received on my previous post, “On Spiritual Beingness.” From the comment: “For me, the key is to find ways to connect the various ideas of the world's historic religious traditions and show how they compliment and strengthen each other and how they are the root of all the "new age" spirituality. None of us should have to reinvent the wheel. People have lived suffered and died for millenniums so it is silly to throw away all that experience and assume we can do it better from scratch...”
My statements on religion is not meant to imply that I am throwing away my previous experiences with religion. Indeed, I am enriched by them. I am this moment the sum, the total of all that I have ever been, which includes some knowledge and/or experience in numerous religions. But religion is not meant to be an “end”, but a means to further spiritual realization. There is no denying the continual expansion, continual evolution of consciousness. How far can a static religion take an evolving consciousness? I believe that all religions serve their purpose in their time; but in time religions must evolve to continually serve the needs of an evolving consciousness. But, more to the point of my previous post, there is much about me that religions do not address, my experiences in the inner worlds that religions do not explain. This is why I go further, for understanding.
And this is what I’ve found: “I AM a soul that God has made, as are all souls; I AM Divine Will expressed in and through the soul that I AM, as are all souls; I AM Divine Love manifest, as are all souls; and I enjoy the infinite Love and Blessings of the Creator, no more and no less than any other soul.”
